London June 17-19

We left Paris and, instead of the usual flying, decided to be different and rode the underground Chunnel to London. We had a slight problem when we got to the Chunnel station. Our train was supposed to leave Paris at 11:15 am or something like that. We got there, after taking the metro with 3 suitcases and 2 carry-ons, with like 45 minutes to spare. NO problem! We had purchased our tickets before we left the US and had our voucher---all we needed was to trade the voucher for the actual tickets.
I sat with the luggage while J went to the ticket counter (that we found after we finally found someone that spoke a little English!). He was gone a long time and came back with a very mad look on his face. It appeared that we were about 45 minutes LATE for our train. We had set our watches ahead.......just apparently missed it by one hour. PROBLEM! So........they will credit 15% of your purchase price to another ticket.......isn't that nice of them?? J was so mad....especially when the exchange rate is 2-1. We were lucky enough to be able to catch the next train........but had to sit with the luggage. YES......the luggage! There were two fold down bleacher-type seats with the luggage racks for the late, non-French speaking Americans in Paris.
We survived.......and even laughed about it a little then. We made it though.........that was all that mattered!

This is a pic from the Tower of London. It was a very large place, but the pictures from here all look the same, so I just chose this one. While here, we got to see the Crown Jewels, but no pictures were allowed in there. BEAUTIFUL is all I can say about them! They looked very heavy though!

The guard outside the Crown Jewel Tower.
We saw Les Miserables at the Queen's Theatre one night while we were there. It was awesome.
The ceiling at the Queens Theatre.
These really were there........I never saw anyone in one though.
We took the double decker bus tour and saw Big Ben........
some great cathedrals and palaces.............
the London Eye..........this "ride" takes an hour but you could see all of London!........
Parliament............
This was on some building........just thought it was interesting..........
We also rode across the London Bridge.......just like the song.......thankfully it did not fall down!
