Where did March go???????

I was looking at my calendar today and March is almost gone. I truly cannot believe it!
Softball and T-ball are about to take over our lives again.........Jill's team practices on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday while Thomas's team (which Jonathan coaches!!) practices on Tuesday and Thursday. Poor Grant gets taken to all these places and all he can do is watch! Usually he goes with me and wants me to read his YuGiOh cards or a book to him OR he wants to crawl all over the Suburban and that really drives me crazy. When it rains, like it has been for the last couple of days, Jill's team practices in the elementary gym---talk about dedication! I went with her last night to her practice and there were wiffle balls flying all over the place! They have their first tournament this weekend.
Jill went to Dazzler Dance Camp last week and enjoyed it. She had a performance on Friday night to show off the routines she learned. She can be pretty sassy---------which is kind of funny for those of you who know her. One of the songs her group used was "I Will Survive" and the part where the singer says "Now go....walk out the door.....and dont come around me anymore......."that is what she has been singing all week!
Jonathan is away again this week enrolling employees of nursing homes across Texas. I think this week he is in Wylie.
I am driving all over region 12 with my job.........still liking it........but Bare Escentuals needs a trainer for Texas. Being the make-up trainer definitely sounds like more fun to me!

Hunting Trip

I am now home from the Davis Girls Hunting Trip. Like I said before, we went to Lubbock. My friend Lorie Welch went with me----she wanted to be a Davis Girl, too!! We left here on Thursday around 10:30 am with NO KIDS or HUSBANDS. We stopped at some fun little shops on the way........but found nothing.........there was a beautiful antique window at a store in Hico, but for $2000 and nowhere to put it, it had to stay there! We ate lunch at the DeLeon Cafe.....for those of you who have made the trip from West to Abilene......you know there arent any choices for food along the way! We made it to Abilene and rode the rest of the way with Lady, Jenny, and Addie--she flew in from Corpus Christi earlier that day. Of course we had to stop for a Coke first---and we even made a delivery to the Merkel Truck Stop for Grandad---that officially made Lorie a Davis Girl! We visited and laughed all the way there........when we got to Fern's house, she had made a feast for us! She had 2 kinds of soup, cornbread, grapes, cheese and crackers, and desserts! We met up with Carra, Micah, and Gisela at Fern's. We got a tour of Fern's house----she had faux finished all the rooms----each color very warm and rich.
We visited some more and finally had to go to bed! Friday was filled with shopping....we went to a trendy little store called 10/20 and I got two fun necklaces there and a camo hat for Jill. We went to Ross and the mall, but I got NOTHING at NY and Co. shocking I know........I did try on 3 things...but none looked good enough to take home. We went to other stores in the mall, too, but again...........found nothing! Lorie and I did get some pantyhose--if you could call them that---mine are capri length and Lorie's are a mini-skirt length---that way we could wear our new cute strappy sandals. We had to have them to keep us a little warm at the performance that night. It was a little colder than we would have liked in Lubbock! Friday night Russ took all the girls plus 2 of Micah's friends to Gardski's Loft for dinner. It was fun being dressed up with the girls. I somehow forgot my camera, so Lady has all the pics on her camera. I will try to upload one of them sometime. We went to the 7:30 showing of Cirque Dreams. It was amazing. All the different colors of the costumes and the tricks they did..........wow. I sat there thinking about the liability involved and how much insurance they had to have for all of it! kinda sad that my brain works like that, isn't it!!?? After the show we went to see Gisela's house---she is also the queen of faux finishes----and has a beautiful house. We got to see David and his workshop.....amazing.
Then we watched "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days"---I still can't believe Lorie had not seen it!
I really need the yellow dress from that movie. I don't know where I would wear it, but I really need it. We saw one at Cache--------
Sat morning we woke up a little later, had another great breakfast (Misty even came over and brought her wedding pics for me to see), and got in a little more last minute shopping before we left. The Bare Escentuals store loved the Davis Girls. We went there on Friday and Saturday for more! We then got lunch to go and were on our way back to Abilene for Lady to deliver some cakes. We were a little later getting there than we thought, so we all went to deliver the cake. Lorie put together the cake stand because it had too many directions for me! She and I were on our way back to West after that. I think we got home around 8:30 or so......starving because as I said earlier........there is nowhere to eat. I had cereal when I got home; Lorie had a thumbprint cookie she said. We had a great time together---visiting, praying, eating, shopping, seeing the play, taking personality quizzes..........I love all of you girls!! Until next time.........

Minus One Child.............

I am minus one child this morning. Thomas went with Jonathan yesterday afternoon to Seymour (where his sister Carra lives) to play with his cousins--Davis and Jake. It was a surprise for Thomas---he did not even know that he had a packed bag---and we did not want to tell the other kids because they would want to go too and I did not want Carra to have to take care of all of my children--------so just Thomas got to go! Jonathan told him that he needed help taking the trash down the road to the dumpster thing. Of course he did not want to help with this........he does not like doing chores.........unless there is some money involved! That was the cover to get him in the truck!!! He did finally go........He kind of looked at me funny when I was hugging and kissing him and he was only going to the end of the road and back......or so he thought! It is about a 4 hour trip to Seymour, so Jonathan packed his Yugioh cards and book, a spiral and a pencil, and some other car stuff. He did not want to pack the DVD player because he wanted to visit with Thomas........I talked to them when they had been gone about three hours and Thomas had not asked where they were going or anything! He kept asking Jonathan if they could go to Videoworld and pick up some movies for the week.....not realizing he was not in West anymore! I guess they stopped and ate somewhere along the way....when they got to Seymour and pulled up in front of Carra and Jimmy's house he was surprised! Jonathan said he cried after that because he wanted his MOMMA! : ) My Sweet Babboo missed me already! He called and was crying because he missed me........so I had to remind him of all the fun he was going to have with his cousins........by the time I finished talking to him he was not crying anymore thank goodness......When I spoke to Jonathan this morning, Thomas was still asleep. He is our late sleeper!
Jill and Grant were, of course, disappointed that they did not get to go, too. But we have been busy ourselves this morning. I really am supposed to be working some this week!!!!!!! We have made pancakes and done some laundry!!! We all slept in my bed last night for fun........or so I thought. Grant was in the middle and he was trying to take over the whole bed and it was storming outside and it did not wake anyone else up but me!!!!!
Jill has already organized her drawers this morning........I told her that was her Spring Break project........because her clothes were a mess! Everything in the wrong place, wadded up instead of folded.....no wonder she could not find anything! She wanted to get it over with she said.
Grant is writing me a letter and he always has to have an envelope for them. They usually say
"MOM then a drawing of a heart and GRANT". The funny one he wrote yesterday during church said BOO DAD! haha
That reminds me of something funny that Thomas said at church yesterday........Jonathan was greeting people as they came in and Thomas said to me and Pops "He is nice here because it is God's house, but when he is at home, he is mean!" poor daddy.........so misunderstood!
Have a great day........................I must get to work!

Trying to catch up..............

I don't know what happened to the pictures from last time.......It takes forever to upload them again and I am not very patient with it all........

The kids have SPRING BREAK this week. I think they have an activity planned for each day. They are excited that tonight is Kid's Night Out at church. There are 2 of our high school students that keep the kids for 4 hours tonight so that the parents can have a date!I guess it should really be called Parent's Night Out, but.......this way the kids think it is for them! We have KNO once a month---it gives the parents a date and the girls a chance to make some $. Tomorrow we may be going to Austin to see Jonathan's parents at his aunt's house. Sunday we have 2 birthday parties back to back with all the normal Sunday activities. Next week the kids want to go to the Mayborn Museum on the Baylor campus, storytime at the Waco library, the movies, the mall (Jill), and wherever else they think they can talk me in to!
I will be leaving on Thursday afternoon for the annual Spring Break Davis Girls Hunting Trip. This includes Jonathan's mom, his sisters and sister-in-law,his mom's cousin and her daughter. My friend, Lorie, is also going this year. She wants to be a Davis Girl, too! We are headed to Lubbock this year---we are seeing a traveling rendition of Cirque de Soleil on Friday night! We might even get dressed up! The rest of the time will be filled with hunting for bargains and visiting with each other. I will return on Saturday night.
Jonathan is busy with his job. He got a contract with a string of nursing homes to write their supplemental benefits, so he has been traveling a lot. His satellite radio was stolen last week along with his whole stereo system, so he was kind of bummed about that!
The robbers (as the kids call them) did not take my GPS system though.....thank goodness! Those of you who know me, know how easily I get lost!
All the kids are fine.....they are shocked that I am letting them watch 3 cartoons this morning instead of two.........its Spring Break they say........OK I said........live a little!
